Today Avianca Holdings S.A agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 100 A320neo (new engine option) from Airbus. The MoU is not an official order yet, however it is an understanding that the company has narrowed its decision down to the A320neo and will work with Airbus and possibly financing companies to complete a deal. Avianca says that after research on their options for a new jet, they selected the Airbus A320neo because of its fuel efficiency, comfort and reliability. The company also ordered 51 A320 jets in 2012. The 2012 order included 33 A320neo jets, bringing the total planned orders for the jet to 133.
